As part of our ongoing commitment to great community causes here in Houston, Rebecca Lankford Designs was proud to host a fundraising event for Houston 20 at Studio 703 this Wednesday, 25th April.
Campaign to end sex trafficking
Houston 20 is a growing group of influential and committed Houstonians who are forming a movement to advocate for the end of sex trafficking and the sex trade in the city. Houston is a major city hub for sex trafficking, with many of the victims being children. To learn more, donate or get involved in the fight against sex trafficking you can find all you need to know here #FightForUs.
The event was a great success and raised thousands of dollars for Houston 20 and their efforts to fight human trafficking. As part of the event, using a generous donation from Martha Hallman, Rebecca’s team made two gorgeous pieces of jewelry for the raffle.
- A one of a kind yellow gold necklace with 6 glistening white diamonds (0.36ctw) inlaid into a cross setting on chocolate brown leather worth $2985, and
- A handmade rhodium plated sterling silver cuff with 5 shimmering white diamonds (0.3ctw) in 14K yellow gold bezel settings worth $1855
Huge congratulations to the winners Arlene Schnieder and Dixie Messner!
As well as the raffle prizes, Rebecca also designed a beautiful #FightForUs bracelet, with 50% of the proceeds going to the Houston 20 mission. Its a simple, classic and timeless design. Each bracelet came with an inspirational message from a survivor –
‘ The journey to overcoming begins with love that is bold enough to meet you in the darkness, instill hope and cover you with an overwhelming faith until you can see the light within you for yourself. Thank you for believing with us, dreaming with us, walking with us and fighting for us.’
Thanks to Kenna Whitehead from Houston 20, the Studio was filled with strong women and a few good men, to learn more about this epidemic and how they can help.
Another Houston 20 member, Jane Dabney, sent her employees to the event to be gifted a #FightForUs bracelet to honor them for Executive Assistants Day, such a great idea!
Other thanks to Excel Pours Bar Catering owned by Jerry Zapata who provided refreshments for the event.
Incredible things happen when we connect, collaborate and collect our energy, and we’re proud to have been part of such a special event!
